Good Morning One and All! I have a very special event to share with you today – Mary & Antonio’s 50th Anniversary Vow Renewal held at the absolutely lovely Veranda in San Antonio, TX. These are a lot of fun for us. We plan and photograph events daily, and we wish our clients the absolute best as they begin their lives together. But it’s special when we meet people who have already succeeded in making their lives together…so much so, that they celebrate a milestone as important as 50 years of successful living together. That is amazing!
What people don’t often consider, is when it comes to planning a vow renewal, these can be tough events to put together (not to suggest that there are *EASY* events to plan 🙂 ) But here’s what happens – bride & groom re-open the doors of wedding planning 50 years later to find that literally EVERYTHING has changed since they planned their first wedding. Costs have changed, expectations have changed, the order of events, the time everything takes, etc, etc. And while they no longer have to consider their parent’s opinions, now they have adult kids who kindly step in to “help” mom & dad…resulting in the event-planning-cliche of “Too Many Cooks In the Kitchen”. (We are often hired to step in and take over event planning because of “Too Much Help”!)
Now Mary and Antonio raised 4 assertive, successful, take-charge daughters. Which, being a father of 2 daughters myself, I give them HUGE credit for. But, frankly, I don’t envy them having to wrangle 4 smart, strong-willed people and ask them to “play nice” and “include your siblings” so that this event can be planned properly! But they did…and it was a gorgeous event. Very well planned and executed (due in no small part, I’m sure, to the fantastic team at The Veranda). Mary & Antonio were happy, the daughters were happy and we had an amazing time capturing the beautiful memories being created that day. Here are a few of our favorite highlights –
